Raymond McCarthy

We had an old upright piano my grandparents handed down to us. I started playing at 4 years old. My childhood piano teacher was Mary Lou Johnson. She taught me Bach Inventions and let me play popular music.

My Mother was the music director at a small country church. I first played to congregations before I played in Honky-Tonks.

I studied music theory and piano at North Texas State University (now University of North Texas).

I toured with several bands, Southern Sky, The Larry Franklin Band and The Tennessee Hat Band before I had to do a better job of supporting my family.

I spent several years managing car dealerships before coming back to music. I just spent 18 months making my latest CD “Thru a Child’s Eyes”. It is available for sale on this website. Thanks for checking it out.
